COMMUNICATION AND CONFLICT MANAGEMENT

Alike many other communication situations in our life, physician-patient-relationships are characterized by a particular role allocation. Only those who are aware of this role allocation and who know the particularities of each position are able to act appropriately and in a target-aimed manner. This is of extraordinary importance in conflict situations, for example when presenting bad news or disappointing expectations. In order to be able to act in a target-oriented and for both sides satisfactory way, training one's communication skills is vital, especially in conflict management. Besides the transfer of theoretical knowledge, the course puts an emphasis on practical experiences, such as the demonstration of certain situations and role plays. Thus, participants are put into the position to develop and personally educate themselves on a professional level.
